3 people sitting in a boat that’s sinking and far from shore, one on each side and one in the middle. The middle turns to the left and says row, turns to the right and says dump buckets of water over board… noticing the boat is now turning in circles the middle person hurries up and tells the left to stop rowing and do buckets, and the right to start rowing.. still going in circles, finally the middle person sits back realizing the problem and tells them both to bail water, once the water is gone he tells them both to row.
I've been sitting around here wanting to blog about something, yet everytime a "good" idea came.. it left or no longer seemed relevant as all the facts were revealed.
One item or particular importance was this quote from our President Obama, "With respect to those who formulate those legal decisions, I would say that that is going to be more of a decision for the attorney general within the parameters of various laws," Obama said, as he finished an Oval Office meeting with visiting King Abdullah of Jordan. "And I don't want to prejudge that. ... There are a host of very complicated issues involved there."
If we can not depend on the word of our elected officals we need to make ensure a timely change is made. In President Obama's first press conference he said "leave the past behind us and look forward". Now with an economy likely in turn, and politics back as usual, Obama has sufficent cover to allow a Pelosi and Reed lead witch hunt. 911 commission in thought, Washington Politics in play -- I can't wait for voting day.
Richmond Hill, Georgia: “Drove by 80 protesters early in the morning along the highway in Richmond Hill, GA. Plenty of honking from the commuters who needed to go to work that morning. Later that afternoon, 1,400 attended a well organized rally on River Street in Savannah, GA. I was impressed.”
San Antonio, Texas: “The San Antonio Tea Party in front of the Alamo was absolutely the best. Great crowd, (reported to be 16,000) well behaved, did not see any reporters or police. Great speakers and entertainment and the place was clean when the party was over. Just a wonderful experience. The movement needs to continue and go to second gear…”
St. Petersburg, Florida:
Oregon City, Oregon: “We had roughly 350 in Oregon City, Or. But if you count all the folks honking their horns and giving a thumbs up as they drove by, the numbers would be, well, heartwarming. We were enthusiastic, energized and ready for more action”
Providence, Rhode Island: “I was there for the first 2 hours of the 3 hour rally and well more than 1,000 attended in that time. As families went home to make dinner, “just off from work” people showed up to take their place. Organizers estimate 2,000 + for the whole rally.”

Gloucester, Virginia: ” I was not an organizer and came in from another county, but we had a good amount of people outside of the old Gloucester courthouse. It was a cold and drizzly day, but the warmth and friendliness expressed by the people went I got there was unbelievable. I have never been to a rally, protest, etc and was unsure of how my children and I would be welcomed. We were definitely welcomed with open arms, especially my children! And what was so nice about the whole event was that there were so many diverse people there. So many different classes of people and no one was judging or looking at each other for whatever reason, we were there for one common cause and it brought different people together.”
We, the undersigned citizens and taxpayers of Clarke County, do hereby protest the use of our tax money to pay for the seemingly endless series of “studies” by “consultants” that have depleted the coffers of the county and distracted attention from more important issues.
The authorities have spent 3.2 million dollars to “study” the Salvation Army site; $ 14,000 to fight the Waterloo flagpole; $25,000 to explore whether the county was using it office space efficiently; and $ 33,000 for suggestions on enhancing the tax base. All this wasted money could put our school plans back on track, and perhaps help pay our teachers.
We citizens have some studies of our own, and we won’t charge a dime for the observations. We used to have a large lumber company, 3 clothing stores, 3 grocery stores and 2 drug stores. Now we have one grocery store and one drug store, the latter open from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays, and closed Sundays.
If you have not heard by now, from the lions mouth to our ears an English Paralament Member declairs Gordon Brown incompatent to his face, and discusses what our future will look like as we decend down the big Government path.
